If you are planning your summer holiday, it would be best to read this post, just in case you want to visit some of the most beautiful places in Romania.
The town of Turda has issued itself among the top tourist places in Transylvania and, with it, the places around became very interesting for anybody trying to have a good time.
So … without any delay – let’s get started with the five places YOU WANNA VISIT THIS SUMMER around Turda.

1. Turda Salt Mine
Without any doubt, the most spectacular underground place in the world is located in Turda. The Turda Salt Mine is the only viewable salt mine in Romania that does not exploit salt any more.
During this winter, the management of the Salt Mine did some great work in creating a next-level experience, with digital guiding, A LOT of souvenirs and a next-level experience regarding the food and beverage zone from the parking lot of the Salt Mine.
Just visit it 🙂

2. The 3 Lakes Complex
Wanna have a fishing trip with your loved ones? Just head over to Campia Turzii, 10 km South of Turda. The local authorities are undergoing some great works, in order to develop the Complex, but still, the 3 tones of fish deposited in the lakes make for great fishing.
If you don’t like fishing, don’t worry, the atmosphere is very relaxing and the place … is absolutely fantastic.
Give it a try!

3. The Tureni gorges
You may have heard of the Turda Gorges, but you sure want to visit the Tureni Gorges, just for the amazing landscape and the best hiking trips you could have.
Just 10 km North-West from Turda, you head over to Tureni and then just follow the indicators and you will arrive in a place blessed by the Dacian God, Zalmoxis.

4. The Ciucaș water fall
Located in the village of Mihai Viteazu, the Ciucas water fall is the best place to make an outdoor barbecue and just skin-dip in the mountain water.
Search it on Google Maps and head over there, this summer! You will not regret, trust us!

5. Rimetea Village
This one is a little far away from Turda, about 25 kilometers, but we promise that it is worth the trip. A hungarian village, included in the UNESCO Heritage List, Rimetea was once a market town, in Medieval times and now is a beautiful, quiet, village.
If you love hiking, you can have a trip in the Trascău mountains, next to Rimetea.
You will love it!
